The game Hungry Shark was released on October 18, 2012, by Future Games Of London (FGOL). Numerous updates and upgrades have since been made, improving the gameplay and adding excitement to the game. Initially, Hungry Shark Evolution did not have accessories or baby sharks: there were only five sharks, but later the Electric Shark, Ice Shark, and Robot Shark were added. Alan, Destroyer of Worlds, was introduced in version 3.7.0 along with a new map and accessories.
Some time after Alan, Destroyer of Worlds, was added, the Fire Shark was introduced in version 4.5.0. It was a powerful special shark and considered the best at the beginning of the game. Later, the fifth special participant, Narwhal Natasha, was added. Over time, FGOL added more and more creatures with pre-designed ideas to the game.

Features and Plot of Hungry Shark
Hungry Shark Evolution includes many aquatic creatures, various currencies, and treasures to be found. As you progress through the game, you will unlock new sharks, fight the giant crab boss, and encounter many other creatures to eat.
The game has about 20 or more playable sharks. Each one is assigned a set of missions that yield various rewards upon completion. After completing eight main missions, a super mission for the shark will be unlocked (in the super mission, there is no shell on the map, and the shell is unlocked after completing the remaining missions). When Gobbleygook was added to the game in the update on February 3, 2020, mission shells were removed from the game, leaving all missions already unlocked.
Other items still exist in the game and will always be available, such as equipment accessories like immobilization gear and helper sharks that swim alongside the main shark. Sunken treasures can also be found throughout the map, giving players small rewards in the form of coins after completing a round or the in-game shark’s death.

Besides the gameplay mode, there are other menus. The main menu has a “Growth” option, allowing you to check your sharks and track their growth, items, and stats (bite strength, speed, and boost power). You can use your coins to improve the sharks’ bite, speed, and boost. You can also buy new fighters in the “Growth” menu and learn about other participants in the game. Additionally, there’s another menu – the Accessories Shop, where you can buy accessories, learn about their qualities and value, and equip your shark.
Gameplay
Hungry Shark Evolution is played in sessions. A session can be started by pressing “Play” in the main menu. To play as a special shark, you need to press “Play” in the top-secret lab.
All game sessions start with the chosen shark falling from an unknown place in the sky into the water. The general goal of the session is to survive as long as possible while scoring as many points as possible. The shark’s health constantly depletes, and to replenish it, you must eat prey. The game will reward you with many interesting bonuses when you complete a mission or eat the chosen prey.
Consuming many creatures in a short amount of time increases multipliers. There are two types of multipliers:
- One common for all sharks, which multiplies earned points by 2, 4, 6, or 8 times.
- Sharks also have their own multipliers. Generally, the more powerful the shark, the higher the multiplier.
These multipliers help achieve one of the game’s two main goals – scoring the most points. They also help fill the Gold Rush meter as quickly as possible.
Besides surviving as long as possible and getting the highest score, there are several side objectives. Each shark in Hungry Shark has its own set of missions, specific goals that can be completed when their shells are discovered – many shells are scattered throughout the game map. There are also sunken objects hidden throughout the game zone. Finding these objects rewards you with generous bonuses in the form of coins.
Finally, there are mini-games. Usually, it’s a beach ball that you can bounce off your shark’s nose to hit the ball up five times in a row without touching the ground or water. Sometimes the beach ball is replaced by other objects during special real-world events. For example, the beach ball temporarily became a soccer ball to celebrate the World Cup.
Movement in Hungry Shark sessions can be controlled either by a virtual D-Pad or by calibrating the game to respond to the tilt of your device.
