How the Deep State Map Came About
The Deep State Telegram channel began operating in February 2020. The channel posted news about the political life of the country and the world. It featured little-known news and facts about international events. With the start of the Russian military buildup at Ukraine’s borders, Deep State focused more on maps marking the locations of enemy troop concentrations. The channel later added stories about the reactions of international organizations and European countries to events in Ukraine.
With the onset of large-scale actions by the Russian army, company started posting maps on a newly created Google platform. However, by mid-March, this platform was blocked due to complaints. After quickly restoring the project on Google, it was blocked again. The founders decided to create their own site, deepstatemap.live, which launched on March 27, 2022.
From its inception, the site had around 10,000 users. Now, maps are used by more than 15 million people.
